COVID-19:Private Schools In Ogun State Solicit Bailout From State Government

     

The Ogun State Private School Operators have solicited a bailout from the state government in order to cope with the harsh effect of covid-19 pandemic.

According to Rockcity Fm Radio, the operators under the umbrella of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) disclosed that they have reached out to the state government to rescue them from the damaging effect of the pandemic on their finances.

The president of the association, Dr. Lawrence Holumdey said this in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

He expressed hope that the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun will favorably respond to their request despite the adverse effect of the pandemic on public finances.

Holumdey appealed to the parents to ensure they pay third term school fees of their children so as to enable them pay salaries of teachers they have been owing for months.

However, he stressed that private schools will not allow automatic promotion of students into upper class as ordered by the state government.
