COVID-19:Pdt BUHARI Oders For Compulsory Wearing Of Face Masks Nationwide

  President Muhammadu Buhari has directed state governments and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to enforce the compulsory wearing of face masks in public places nationwide.

This was announced by Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the Presidential Task force on COVID-19.

Boss Mustapha was addressing journalists during Thursday’s PTF briefing.

According to him, “President Buhari also asked the PTF to partner with states and local governments to improve community sensitisation and engagement to step up response to the COVID-19 response.

"He has also encouraged state governments to collaborate with local government authorities to intensify necessary measures such as contact tracing, grassroots mobilisation and risk communication.

"He also ordered that collaboration with other mandate groups at federal/state levels to harmonise the country’s COVID-19 response be strengthened on the short, medium and long-term basis.”

FGN Agrees To Pay Owed Private Schools Teachers Salaries

      The Federal Government Of Nigeria -FGN- has agreed to pay the salaries of private school teachers whom are being owed by their school’s manag -ement since the lockdown began in March. This was contained in a statement signed by the President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, NAPPS, Yomi Otubela. Otubela disclosed that the association forwarded a proposal to the Economic Sustainability Committee headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, for the government to pay the salaries of the private school teachers. He indicated that an approval has been granted to the proposal by the Federal Executive Council. COVID:Lagos state set for primary and secondary schools reopening within 2 weeks

The Lagos state government appears ready to ask for reopening of primary and secondary within 2 weeks to complete its second term. The second session of both primary and secondary schools was interrupted and postponed by the government to stop the spread of the corona virus outbreak.
