COVID-19:Pdt BUHARI Oders For Compulsory Wearing Of Face Masks Nationwide

  President Muhammadu Buhari has directed state governments and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to enforce the compulsory wearing of face masks in public places nationwide.

This was announced by Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the Presidential Task force on COVID-19.

Boss Mustapha was addressing journalists during Thursday’s PTF briefing.

According to him, “President Buhari also asked the PTF to partner with states and local governments to improve community sensitisation and engagement to step up response to the COVID-19 response.

"He has also encouraged state governments to collaborate with local government authorities to intensify necessary measures such as contact tracing, grassroots mobilisation and risk communication.

"He also ordered that collaboration with other mandate groups at federal/state levels to harmonise the country’s COVID-19 response be strengthened on the short, medium and long-term basis.”

Nigeria is alleged importing dirty fuel dumped on it that cannot be sold to other countries with higher and better implemented standards, a new report by an international resource watchdog group has stated. According to PUNCH, Stakeholder Democracy Network(SDN),said in the report that black-market fuel made from stolen oil in rudimentary “bush” refineries hidden deep in the creeks and swamps of the Niger Delta could be less polluting than the highly toxic diesel and petrol that Europe exports to Nigeria. Olaniran Emmanuel, Head of Public Affairs, Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) issued the details in a statement at the weekend. Public and private schools below tertiary level will commence First Term academic activities on Monday, 21st September, 2020 while the term runs through Friday 18th December, 2020.     The Federal Government of Nigeria on Friday disclosed it received an “aide memoire” on the Russia’s COVID-19 newly  developed vaccine.
