Caring For Your Skin,Your Hair? Check These 9 Natural Oils To Use

Why Try Natural Oils?

They are proven to be alternatives to condition hair, moisturize skin, fight acne, and strengthen nails. Just  have a look at your drugstore and you’ll find them in many products. Do they work? You may need to experiment. Everyone’s skin is different, and it  may come down to trial and error.

1.  Marula

Made from the fruit of the marula tree, which is originated from South Africa, this oil is rich and hydrating. It’s loaded with fatty acids, which dermatologists say can soothe dry skin. It can absorb quickly and won’t leave you shiny or greasy.

2.   Tea Tree

Red, inflamed breakouts occur when bacteria gets trapped inside your pores. Researc found that tea tree oil can help zap that bacteria. In one trial, it could beat a placebo gel (which has no active ingredients) at treating acne and calming inflammation. Another study showed that it was as effective as benzoyl peroxide, which is a common ingredient in over-the-counter zit remedies.

3.   Argan.

Some people call it “liquid gold";argan oil is high in antioxidants called polyphenols, which may limit the effects of aging. Dermatologists also say its omega-3 fatty can  acid boost collagen growth and plump up your skin. It doesn’t matter if your skin is a dry, oily, or normal skin type.

It also can affect hair, but doesn’t weight it down or make it feel greasy. You might still use your other hair care products, too.

4.   Chamomile and Peppermint

You probably see chamomile as a relaxing tea, but the oil from this daisy-like plant might also calm your skin. Skin specialists call it an anti-inflammatory and an antiseptic, which reduces redness, irritation, and the chance of infection. Peppermint oil has the similar soothing properties.

5.   Coconut

Dry, cracked skin is more exposed to infection s, irritation, and allergic reactions. Coconut oil protects and moisturizes it, and soothes the scaly, rough patches that contribute to common conditions such as eczema, too.

6.   Rosehip and Carrot

Vitamin A is found in lots of skin care products. It’s a “retinoid,” a chemical that helps replace old skin cells with new ones and make collagen, which may ease color changes from scarring and stretch marks. Two oils that are particularly loaded with vitamin A include rosehip seed and carrot. Some dermatologists say they’re also important in acne and anti-aging treatments. You might need only a tiny dab at nighttime.

7.   Rosemary and Castor

If you want to plump up your ponytail, have control over your scalp,Rosemary oil might help you get a thicker, shinier mane. One study showed that 6 months of treatment worked as well as 2% minoxidil against androgenetic alopecia, a common form of hair loss in men and women. And it was less likely to lead to an itchy scalp.
Castor oil is another home remedy shown to thicken brows and lashes. Before  trying it, ask your doctor if it’s safe, since it would go near your eyes. More research is still needed to determine whether it really works.

8.   Olive and Avocado

Get thin or brittle nails;for a simple, all-natural solution, dab a little olive or avocado oil on them before bed. The oils will soak in overnight and nourish with good-for-you fatty acids. You may use other types of oil for this, too.

9.   Sesame

You can replace your mouthwash with oil. It’s trendy, but oil pulling, or rinsing out your mouth with oil, is considered a generations-old remedy for healthy teeth and gums. Research found it might help. Recent international studies  showed that swishing with sesame oil (coconut and sunflower work, too) might cut plaque and gingivitis. It could also wash away the microorganisms that are linked to bad breath.
