COVID-19:A Local Drug At Last?As Pax Herbal Drug Is Approved By NAFDAC As Immune Booster Against Coronavirus

The Director of the Pax Herbal Clinic and Research Laboratories, Ewu in Edo State, Rev. Fr. Anslem Adodo, has announced that the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has finally approved their herbal remedy for the cure of symptoms ass -ociated with COVID-19.
In a personal memo that went viral on social media, Fr. Adodo said: “After a series of screening, spanning eight weeks, NAFDAC has today approved our Paxherbal COVID-19 herbal drug, Paxherbal Cugzin, for public use.
It is the first to be so approved and presently the only one. The drug is specifically for treating the symptoms associated with the coronavirus.”

He said NAFDAC had earlier given tacit approval for the drug to be used, even though the body was yet to announce that approval officially; hence the initial packs of the herbal remedy carried the disclaimer, “these claims have not yet been verified by NAFDAC.”
But with that hurdle crossed, Paxherbal Cugzin now has the NAFDAC number: A7-4358L.
Pax Herbal Cugzin, which had earlier been produced under the brand name, ‘CVD PLUS,’ before it was rebranded to ‘Paxherbal Cugzin,’ is in capsules and packaged in a container of eighty 400mg capsules, each containing Garcinia Kola, Curcuma Longa and Zingiber officinale.

Ogun State To Reopen Schools Sept 21,To Adopt Staggered Timetables

          The Ogun State Government has announced Monday, September 21, 2020, the date for reopening of schools in the state for the first term of 2020/2021 session. The government, however, staggered the resumption and closing times for primary and secondary schools, while colleges and tertiary institutions keep full normal hours. The government said this on Monday in a press release by the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Kunle Somorin. The government indicated that early child care development and education classes from three to five years of age are not  resuming yet in public schools until the next phase of school reopening.     The Lagos State Ministry of Education has released school calendar for 2020/2021 session. Olaniran Emmanuel, Head of Public Affairs, Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) issued the details in a statement at the weekend. Public and private schools below tertiary level will commence First Term academic activities on Monday, 21st September, 2020 while the term runs through Friday 18th December, 2020. The Second Term begins on Monday 4th January, 2020 and runs through Friday 6th April, 2021 while students will resume for Third Term on Tuesday 4th May, 2021 and close on Friday 6th August, 2021.
