FGN Begins N75 Billion MSME's Survival Funds Registration

The President Buhari led Administration has opted to put money in the hands of Nigerian's through the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, MSME's support Survival Fund which will be available for beneficiaries as from today.

Mr. Laolu Akande, the SSA to the V.P Osibanjo's on media and publicity announced on Monday that this will be implemented for a Sustained Economic plan.

He added that the survival Fund which is part of the Economic sustainable plan of the Government will be open for potential beneficiaries and they can get information on website.

COVID-19:Schools To Resume with Staggered Timetables In Lagos State

     Lagos State primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions will be using staggered timetables and different teaching practices to meet the COVID-19 protocols as directed by the state government. The state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had announced that tertiary institutions would resume September 14, with primary and secondary schools tentatively reopening September 21. Commenting on the development, the vice-chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun on Monday, indicated that students of the university would resume in batches from September. Fagbohun, in a radio interview monitored in Lagos, explained that 400, 500 and 600 level students would resume first when other levels of students would come on board later.         The sum of N1.5bn was spent as COVID-19 relief fund for staff of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC , Kemebradikumo Pondei, Acting Managing Director of the commission, said. Pondei revealed this at the investigative hearing on the N40bn corruption allegation against the commission. The Senate had on May 5 set up a seven-man ad-hoc committee to investigate the financial mismanagement of the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC.                      The World Health Organization (WHO) has called for caution as African airlines resume operations in various countries. The WHO stressed that strict measures should be observed to prevent surges in Corona virus infections. The organisation asked governments to ensure airlines collect the information of passengers travelling and follow up with them to prevent outbreaks.        The Federal Government of Nigeria says state governments and school administrators should start making preparations for the full resumption of school in the country. Remember  that schools in the country were shut in March as part of measures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus disease. However, the FGN ordered the resumption only for graduating pupils effective August 4, 2020, to write this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination from August 17, 2020, through September 12, 2020.
