COVID-19:See The Special arrangement Of Classrooms In China.Can Other Countries Emulate This Example?

As the corona virus pandemic continue to spread all over the world, countries have started to proffer solutions on how to curb the deadly disease in their countries.
With more than hundred thousand lives lost all over the world due to this pandemic, no one wants to lose anymore live. Hence measures are put in place to fight this novel pandemic.
In this perspective, the measures put in place in schools in China to ensure their pulpils and students go back to school after a long lockdown are quite understandable.

In Nigeria, schools are currently shutdown due to spread of the virus among students.
Below are some of the photos of the new classroom arrangement in schools in China.

COVID-19:Kogi,Osun States Announce School Resumption Dates

       Kogi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, has announced that schools in the State will fully resume September 14, 2020.This includes all primary and secondary schools,as well as tertiary institutions. This announcement came after the one made by the Lagos State G overnor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu,who ordered that all Tertiary Institutions in Lagos State should resume by 14th of September, 2020, and that primary and secondary schools should resume on 21st of the same month. The information was released on Monday by the State Commissioner for Education, Honorable Wemi Jones, FCIB, during a press briefing in Lokoja.              Sanwo-Olu,the Lagos State Governor, while giving a live press briefing on Covid-19,on Saturday,announced that the worship centres will resume their activities with effect from August ,7, 2020. Before now, there has been conflicting information about the opening of worship centres in the state which has subjected the government to criticism by some religious fanatics, who are of the opinion that the continuous shutting down of activities in churches and mosques was an attempt to victimize worshippers. COVID-19:UN Calls On Nigerian Government To Ensure Safety Protocols Ahead Of School Resumption

              The United Nations has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to ensure that safety protocols against the spread of COVID-19 are in place before full reopening of schools. The global agency stated that about 46 million primary and secondary learners across Nigeria are affected due to pandemic-related school closures. The UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Edward Kallon, stated this in a release he issued on Monday in commemoration of the World International Day to Protect Education from Attack. COVID-19:Pdt BUHARI Oders For Compulsory Wearing Of Face Masks Nationwide

     President Muhammadu Buhari has directed state governments and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to enforce the compulsory wearing of face masks in public places nationwide. This was announced by Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the Presidential Task force on COVID-19. Boss Mustapha was addressing journalists during Thursday’s PTF briefing. According to him, “President Buhari also asked the PTF to partner with states and local governments to improve community sensitisation and engagement to step up response to the COVID-19 response. "He has also encouraged state governments to collaborate with local government authorities to intensify necessary measures such as contact tracing, grassroots mobilisation and risk communication. COVID-19:FGN Says Any School Caught Violating Safety Protocols As They Resume Will be shut down

  As some states are about to  resume school, the Federal Government of Nigeria said normal procedures should be followed. Any school willing to resume must be cleared and given a go-ahead by their State Government. In the PTF meeting which was held yesterday, September 14th, the minister  of state for education Chukwuemaka Nwajiuba stated that t he Ministry of education would shut down any  school that violates covid-19 protocols. Any school that plans to resume must first make sure all covid 19 containment measures are put in place for safe reopening for their student. They  must be cleared for resumption after thoroughly examining them.  That is the main protocol. In this light, it is illegal for any school to resume without approval from constituted authorities. Schools Reopening:Lagos State Approves 20/21 Academic Calendar

    The Lagos State Ministry of Education has released school calendar for 2020/2021 session. Olaniran Emmanuel, Head of Public Affairs, Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) issued the details in a statement at the weekend. Public and private schools below tertiary level will commence First Term academic activities on Monday, 21st September, 2020 while the term runs through Friday 18th December, 2020. The Second Term begins on Monday 4th January, 2020 and runs through Friday 6th April, 2021 while students will resume for Third Term on Tuesday 4th May, 2021 and close on Friday 6th August, 2021.
