Schools Partially Reopened,Inter-States Travels Ban Lifted, As FGN Begins New Eased Lockdown

          After much worries and cries about the re-opening of schools from different stakeholders in the educational sector, the Federal Government of Nigeria - FGN - has finally granted permission for partial reopening of schools across the country to resume for academic activities. According to the PUNCH, the FGN has approved what it called “safe reopening” of schools nationwide in the next phase of the gradual easing of lockdown ordered to checkmate further spread of COVID-19. At this stage, only students that are about to graduate will resume school in order to prepare for their final examinations. This was disclosed during the media briefing by the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, in Abuja on Monday, June 29, 2020 while also announcing  the beginning of the phase II of the eased lockdown  extension for another four weeks. COVID-19:FGN Give New Guidelines Ahead Of Reopening Churches,Mosques

             The updated guidelines which were released by the presidential task force on COVID-19 listed measures to be taken by church and mosques for reopening. The federal ministry of information said the guidelines were intended to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.They include: 1. Attend church only on Sundays 2. Openchurch from 5am to 8pm 3. Hold multiple services with a maximum of one hour per session 4. Sanitise all worship areas including doors, doors, switches, and microphones 5. COVID19:FGN releases guidelines for local and int'l travels as airports start reopening

                       Passengers travelling abroad through Nigeria’s airport terminals are required to be at the airport five hours before departure to undergo COVID-19 protocols, the Nigeria Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, has announced. The Minister said this on Saturday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos when he disclosed some of the measures introduced for the reopening of the country’s airports closed in March  due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Sirika, who led other members of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 to  assess facilities put in place at the airport ahead of its reopening, indicated that domestic travellers on their part would need to be at the airport three hours before departure for processing.             The Nigeria Minister of Aviation According to him, this is a move to reduce sources of contamination of the virus.
