Breaking News:FGN Announces August,17 As Commencement Date of WASSCE

         The Federal Government Of Nigeria on Monday ordered all schools in the country to reopen for graduating pupils in Primary 6, JSS 3 and SSS 3 as from August,4. It also announced that this year’s 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination,WASSCE would commence on August ,17. This was contained in a statement published on Monday by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Goong. In the statement titled, ‘Exit Classes To Reopen August 4th’, the ministry indicated that the agreed dates were part of the resolutions reached after a consultative meeting with the education commissioners of the 36 states of the federation and other stakeholders.

Lagos State Set To Reopen Schools August,4

     Following the decision of The State governors in the South-West geopolitical zone to reopen schools, primary and secondary schools in Lagos State are set to reopen on August 3, to pave way to preparation of WAEC. Hence, only learners in primary six, junior secondary school 3, and senior secondary school 3 are to resume. This, it was gathered, is as result of a meeting held on Thursday in Ikeja with some stakeholders in the sector by officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Education During the meeting, the Department of Quality Assurance in the ministry mandated all schools, whether public or private to fill an online assessment form, indicating their readiness in meeting conditions stipulated for school reopening by the Federal Ministry of Education.
