COVID-19:Lagos State House Visits Schools For Safety Protocols Assessment

    


Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Education have paid a working visit to schools under Education District II to ascertain the level of compliance to COVID-19 protocols ahead of full resumption as directed by the State Government.

The Committee Chairman, Mr. Yinka Ogundimu, who led the team on Wednesday September 9, 2020, expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness by the schools under the Education District.

He congratulated the various schools visited for meeting all the requirements needed for reopening.

He also seized the opportunity to check on the students writing the WASSCE Examination to urge them to put in their best as well as strive for excellent performance.

The Committee also commended the District’s Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Anike Adekanye for her relentless efforts at raising schools standard within the District.

“The commitment of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, towards the development of the educational sector motivated me and other staff in the district,” Mrs. Adekanye stated.

She also thanked all members of the House of Assembly Committee on Education for taking time out of their busy schedule to visit the educational district as part of efforts to ensure that students and officers return in a safe environment.

The schools visited include Oriwu Senior Model College Ikorodu; Civil Service Senior and Junior Model College, Ikorodu; Mende Senior and Junior High School, Maryland.

Others are Immaculate Heart Comprehensive Senior and Junior High School, Odogunyan; Junior High School, Ikorodu and Senior High School, Ikorodu, among others.
